Student Alumni
from the 1960s of the Etege Menen School for Girls (Ethiopia) have
established the “Etege Menen Girls School Alumni Association” in
Northern America. This school has been so instrumental in providing us
outstanding education. It is our time to give back to our country and
our school. The school provides 500 girls, free room and board. However,
the school lacks essential school infrastructure, equipment, materials,
and supplies. Most of the school's infrastructure is not functional,
safe, or adequate to accommodate the children. For example, due to the
shortage of school materials, each girl is only allowed a couple of
hours to use the material and return the material back for the next
student to use. This is no way for a child to learn. Children should
have the opportunity to have their own personal material and be given
all the adequate time they need to learn the information.
We
are asking anyone that values education and uplifting these girls to
help us give them an equal chance to learn and flourish in their lives.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to fill the need gap, so these children
will have basic school supplies and a safe environment to learn.
We
kindly ask that you join us in this fundraiser campaign by donating and
spreading the word! No amount is too small or too large. We appreciate
anything that you can give. Let's give back, by reaching back, and
helping those in need, especially the most vulnerable.
